VOCABULARY
  • Claim: say something is true although you might not be able to prove it
  • Bid:  Money that you pay for a race and then if you win the money will multiply and if you lose yo lose your money
  •  Broadcast: Is to send out information on the radio o TV
  • Fund raising: Is the act of collecting money from different peoples or industries
  • Check-up: Is a revision of yourself when you go to the dentist or the doctor

  • Draught: Is a very big flood

  • Ad: An advertisment

  • Hint: an indirect, partly hidden, or helpful suggestion

  • Spoonful: As much as a spoon can hold
 IDIOMS
  • It's a no brainer: It's an easy decision
  • When pigs fly: It will never happen
  • Hit the books: Study very hard
  • Once in a blue moon: very rarely
  • Put yourself together: Calm down and behave normally
  • Freak out: Become very angry, excited...  
  • Drop out of school: Leave the school without graduating
  • Showed her true colours: Reveal one's true nature
  • Skip classes: Play truant, stay away from the school
  • Out of the blue: Appear out of nowhere without warning
  • A couch potato: A very lazy person
  • Bookworm: Someone who reads a lot
  • Behind the time: Used to describe someone who is old-fashioned
  •  Call it a day: Quit work and go home
  • Was caught red-handed : Catch someone comiting a crime
  • Chaising raimbows: Wasting time trying to achive something impossible
